Executive Care by Marshall

The Importance of Men's Health

Dr. Mullin’s stance of the importance of men’s health, stem from his own research and experience as a MD. With a collective shared opinion he agrees that: men are significantly less likely than women to see a doctor or report symptoms to a health care provider. Only 60 percent of men go to the doctor for a yearly, routine checkup, and 40 percent will not go until something is seriously wrong. Men are often perceived as the physically stronger gender because they are typically bigger and more muscular than women thanks to testosterone. However, when it comes to health, men are biologically weaker. Men are more likely to experience chronic health conditions earlier than women and have shorter lives. Men frequently view healthcare as a nuisance, as inefficient and an unpleasant experience. Most men do not feel comfortable discussing male issues with either a male or a female provider. Healthcare offers a one size fits all approach that does not take into account male specific goals, ambitions, lifestyles, impediments, and rarely addresses medication side-effect profiles that can crush a man’s defining characteristics. Twenty percent of men report seeing a doctor so their significant other or a loved one will stop nagging them.Fifty-nine percent of men report being anxious for 3 or more days in the past 2 weeks and 59% have been depressed. Men’s mental health issues are less effectively identified and managed due

to the differences in how men manifest their symptoms. Men behave differently than women when worried, scared, anxious, or depressed. The difference in presentation, societal pressures, and expectations have resulted in generations of men that are both physically and mentally unhealthy. The overall mortality rate is 41 percent higher for men than women, and it is higher for men for 8 out of 10 leading causes of death—including heart disease, cancer, stroke and diabetes.

Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths for men in the United States. Most prostate cancer can be effectively treated if identified early with routine lab testing.

Executive & Professional Men's Health FAQs

What is an Executive Men's Health Program?

An Executive Men's Health Program is a comprehensive, physician-led healthcare program designed specifically for busy professionals, business owners, executives, and high-performing men. The program focuses on disease prevention, early detection, hormone optimization, physical performance, mental resilience, sexual health, and longevity through personalized concierge medical care.

Why do successful men need a specialized healthcare program?

High-performing men often prioritize career, family, and business responsibilities over their health. A specialized men's health program provides proactive medical oversight, advanced diagnostics, personalized health strategies, and convenient access to care designed around demanding schedules and performance goals.

What health issues are most common among executive and professional men?

Many professional men face challenges related to cardiovascular health, metabolic syndrome, weight gain, declining testosterone levels, stress, burnout, sleep disorders, sexual health concerns, reduced energy, and age-related changes in performance and recovery. Early intervention can help reduce long-term health risks and improve quality of life.

What is testosterone optimization?

Testosterone optimization is a physician-supervised approach to evaluating and managing testosterone levels when clinically indicated. Healthy testosterone levels play an important role in energy, muscle mass, body composition, cognitive function, libido, sexual performance, mood, and overall vitality.

How do I know if I have low testosterone?

Common symptoms of low testosterone may include fatigue, decreased energy, reduced muscle mass, weight gain, low libido, erectile dysfunction, difficulty concentrating, poor recovery, sleep disturbances, and changes in mood. Comprehensive laboratory testing can help determine whether hormone imbalance is contributing to symptoms.

Do you offer testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)?

Yes. When medically appropriate, testosterone replacement therapy may be incorporated into a personalized men's health plan. Every patient undergoes a comprehensive evaluation, including advanced laboratory testing, health history review, and ongoing monitoring to ensure safe and effective treatment.

Can hormone optimization improve energy and performance?

Hormone optimization may help improve energy, physical performance, recovery, body composition, mental clarity, motivation, and overall well-being in men with clinically identified hormone deficiencies or imbalances.

Do you help men with erectile dysfunction and sexual health concerns?

Yes. We provide comprehensive evaluations for erectile dysfunction, reduced libido, performance concerns, hormone-related issues, and other men's sexual health conditions. Treatment plans are individualized and designed to address underlying causes rather than simply treating symptoms.

What role does men's health play in longevity?

Men's health optimization is a critical component of longevity. By addressing cardiovascular risk factors, hormone health, metabolic function, body composition, sleep quality, stress management, and preventive screenings, men can improve both lifespan and healthspan.

Do you offer advanced health screenings for men?

Yes. Advanced diagnostics may include comprehensive laboratory testing, cardiovascular risk assessments, prostate health evaluations, cancer screening, body composition analysis, hormone testing, metabolic health assessments, and other preventive screenings designed to identify health risks before symptoms develop.

How important is prostate cancer screening for men?

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting men. Routine screening and monitoring can help detect prostate cancer and other prostate-related conditions earlier, when treatment options are often most effective.

Can executive health programs help reduce burnout and stress?

Yes. Chronic stress and burnout can negatively affect hormone health, cardiovascular health, sleep quality, mental resilience, and overall performance. Our approach addresses stress management, recovery, sleep optimization, lifestyle habits, and mental wellness as part of a comprehensive health strategy.

Do you provide men's mental health support?

Yes. Mental health is a critical component of overall wellness and performance. We recognize that anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, and emotional health often present differently in men and can significantly impact both personal and professional success.

What is concierge men's healthcare?

Concierge men's healthcare is a membership-based medical model that provides direct physician access, extended appointment times, personalized health planning, proactive monitoring, and a higher level of service than traditional healthcare practices.

How does your Executive Men's Health Program differ from online testosterone clinics?

Unlike many online clinics that focus on a single treatment, Marshall Lifestyle Medicine provides physician-led, comprehensive care that evaluates the entire patient. Our approach includes advanced diagnostics, preventive screenings, hormone optimization, metabolic health, cardiovascular risk assessment, lifestyle medicine, and long-term health planning tailored to each individual's goals and needs.

Can your program help me maintain my competitive edge as I age?

Yes. Our Executive Men's Health Program is designed to help men maintain strength, vitality, cognitive performance, resilience, recovery, confidence, and overall wellness as they age. The goal is not simply to add years to life, but to maximize performance, health, and quality of life throughout those years.

Is Executive Men's Health only for

older men?

No. Many men begin proactive health optimization in their 30s and 40s to identify risk factors early, improve performance, preserve muscle mass, optimize hormone health, and establish habits that support long-term vitality and healthy aging.
